The difference between torque & tension.
A great video done by Applied Bolting about how Torque isn't Tension!
What is torque and tension?
Torque is the amount of effort needed to turn a nut down the threads of a bolt.
Tension is the elongation or stretch of that bolt that produces the clamp load of the steel.
Please take a few minutes to watch this very informative video by Applied Bolting, using a TONE electric non-impacting torque wrench and a Skidmore-Wilhelm hydraulic load cell.
